Yamato Scale Dataweigh UK will be turning the spotlight onto some of its leading weighing machinery at a prestigious packaging technology show in April.
Yamato will be attending the bi-annual Foodex 2018 exhibition at the NEC from 16 – 18 April where they will demonstrate the vital role that multihead weighers and table top weighers play throughout the fresh food packaging process. The team will be located at stand BB260 in Hall 3 where they will be exhibiting the Table Top Semi-automatic Dataweigh (TDSW) range and Alpha Advance multihead weigher.
“We’re excited to be showcasing at the Foodex 2018 event again,” said Andrea Spencer, commercial operations manager for Yamato Scale Dataweigh UK.
“Many customers are interested in the process and machinery that keep their lines running behind the scenes. This event gives us a valuable opportunity to engage with them and discuss how they can best achieve their objectives with Yamato’s checkweighers and range of weighing machines – particularly when it comes to complying with food safety and quality requirements.”
Fresh food producers have been hesitant to adopt automation due to concerns about bruising of delicate fruits – which has a negative effect on shelf life – and bags of product bursting – which can increase wastage and lead to hefty retailer penalties. Consumers are also strongly swayed by the visual quality of the produce – shape, colour and visual defects.
Solutions like Yamato’s Table Top Semi-Automatic Dataweigh can provide the perfect low impact solution for products that are delicate or fragile in nature.
Thanks to Yamato’s AFC system (Auto feeder control system), and the resulting improved feeder amplitude, the Alpha Advance series of multihead weighers can handle sticky or fragile products. Achieving weighing levels of 75wpm by 10-head model and 140wpm by 14-head model, the high frequency load cells shorten the settle time of weighing cycle and realises high-speed weighing.
“Yamato has considerable experience with packaging lines and in ensuring that product requirements align with automation processes” says Andrea.
“All the packaging and weighing solutions we develop are tailored to the customer’s products by our team of highly skilled engineers. Foodex is our opportunity to showcase how we apply our extensive knowledge to help solve customers’ processing problems.”
